This week, until 6th May, is National Gardening Week.
To coincide with this Techniquest Glyndŵr has arranged for 3 separate volunteering sessions for volunteers to be involved in various tasks in the recently opened Science Garden which is on the Plas Coch campus of Glyndwr University close to our centre.
With Spring well and truly under way and blossom now fully out you are invited to come along to help for an hour or two to help keep the Science Garden looking great for our visitors.
The three sessions are on Wednesday 2nd May from 1pm to 3pm, Thursday 3rd May 10am to 12 noon and Friday 4th May 1pm to 3pm.
If you would like to help out in any of these sessions, please call in to the reception at Techniquest Glyndŵr so that you can be ‘registered’ and then you can be shown where the science garden is.
Whilst gloves and gardening tools are provided, you will need to come dressed for tasks that might be a little messy. Jobs on the list include: preparing planters made out of rubber tyres, preparing an area of the garden as a mini wildflower meadow and sowing with native wildflowers, mulching around trees and shrubs, preparing a small area of the garden ready for planting with sunflowers in a few weeks.
