About Techniquest Glyndŵr  

Techniquest Glyndŵr is the trading name of North Wales Science, a company limited by guarantee and registered in England and Wales as a charity - (Charity Number 1102959). The charity is wholly owned by Wrexham Glyndŵr University.

 

Techniquest Glyndŵr is the premier Science Discovery Centre in North Wales attracting both the general public and school visits at primary and secondary level. The centre offers over 65 interactive science exhibits in addition to live science shows delivered to the public at weekends and during local (Wrexham) school holidays.

 

A comprehensive programme of curriculum related science workshops and shows is available from Foundation/Key Stage 1 right up to Key Stage 5.

 

These can be delivered either at the centre or by outreach visits across the whole of North Wales and into North West England, including Cheshire East and West, Warrington, Wirral, Liverpool and Shropshire.

 

The company’s principal objectives are:

  • To promote the advancement of education and learning, particularly amongst children, of science and technology and in particular (without limiting the generality of the foregoing) to do so by maintaining and carrying on an exhibition to explore various scientific concepts and to encourage an awareness amongst such children of the significance of science and technology in society;
  • To promote public understanding of science and technology through the delivery of educational programmes, science festivals and other such activities as the company may deem necessary.

The company’s annual reports and accounts are available via the Charity Commission website or from the Company Secretary.

North Wales Science is governed by a Board of Directors. The Board Members are the Charity Trustees and the Directors of the company. The company always welcomes interest in Trusteeship from individuals who support its objectives.
