The ‘Mine to Magnet’ School Workshop, the first of its kind, has received funding from Innovate UK to enhance education surrounding critical materials for green technology.

The recently launched exhibition runs until 8th March 2024 and is created around six questions looking at encouraging minds, both young and old, to consider the future of infrastructure and the role of civil engineers in helping society respond to the challenges of climate change.

Xplore! Science Discovery Centre and Ty Paŵb are thrilled to announce the much-anticipated return of the Darganfod//Discover Science and Arts Festival. The 2024 edition is set to take place on the 3rd and 4th of August in the heart of Wrexham. This extraordinary weekend event promises to be a fusion of science and the arts, creating an immersive experience for all attendees.

Xplore! Science Discovery Centre is pleased to present Winter Science, running from Saturday, 16th of December until the 14th of January, this new science show features a frosty array of exciting experiments for all ages just in time for the school holidays. Xplore! Science Discovery Centre recently became a hub of exploration and discovery during our Genomics, After Dark event!

A Wrexham tourist attraction is inviting North Wales residents to have their say in shaping the future of its engagement activity. Xplore! Science Discovery Centre is calling on local people to pitch ideas for sustainably focused exhibits, in a bid to encourage a deeper sense of community involvement within the city.  

Xplore! Science Discovery Centre will present Creative Chemistry, taking place at 17 Henblas Street, Wrexham on Friday, October 27th until the 10th of December, featuring exciting experiments for all ages.

Xplore! Science Discovery Centre is proud to announce their participation in the Mindsets + Missions project. The Xplore! project titled "A Place of Lifelong Learning," focuses on co-producing science centre experiences with community groups. Xplore! will be working with KIM-Inspire, Dynamic Voice, Contact Club, and Arts from the Armchair through a series of six bespoke co-production sessions. The participants will work together to develop a range of activities for their own use. These co-development sessions aim to foster deeper relations with the community groups to transform Xplore! Science Discovery Centre into a place of lifelong learning.

This weekend was our fantastic family fun-day and we made great progress in bringing our communities together. It was a brilliant day filled with fun, games, and activities, all of which we could not have done without the help and support of so many people!

Xplore! Science Discovery Centre is delighted to announce that it has been successful in a bid as part of the UK Government’s Shared Prosperity Fund. This transformational fund will allow Xplore! to build for the future and become more sustainable. A leading science visitor attraction in the centre of Wrexham has revealed the full impact of its work engaging communities through STEM.

Two local schools received a free science workshop with thanks to Ipsen Biopharm Ltd during British Science Week. This year’s theme celebrates ‘connections’, and what better way than to connect school children with a huge local employer at their local science centre.

Our first Inclusion event in March was a massive success. Attendees raved about the flexibility of the space, the calming lighting, and the breakout environment that helped young people make the most of the day. Xplore! has truly created a space where everyone can learn and enjoy science in their own way.

At Xplore! Science Discovery Centre, we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to learn and discover the wonders of science in a way that feels comfortable and inclusive for them. That's why we are excited to announce that we will be hosting an Inclusion Day, a special event designed to make our centre more welcoming for those with an additional need or disability once a month.

A shared passion to protect and enrich the lives of future generations in Wales has led to a key sponsorship at a North Wales science discovery centre.

This project, Crop Cycle, is being funded by the Welsh Government through the Foundational Economy Challenge Fund and we will be working with business and partners who are committed to the four pillars of the Economic Contract.  The project will provide a test bed for Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA), in the community setting – the very heart of our Foundational Economy. The project is being led by Social Farms & Gardens supported by Welsh Government’s Horticulture Cluster group and NutriWales CEA Special Interest Group.
